The tour resumed inside where the pearls are sorted based on size and quality. Tables of young women would dump bowls of pearls onto their table and begin. I have never seen so many pearls! Beautiful!
After the pearls are sorted, they are brought to another table for drilling the holes so they can be strung. As most factory jobs, this is tedious work where the girls have to place the pearl into a hand levered machine, drill the hole and release ...
Barely took any photos in Hangzhou as it ****** it down most of the time we were there but here are a few. Hangzhou isn't much of a wintery place really as most of the activities are based around the lake. We attempted to walk around it on my birthday but got soaked through so went to a silk museum instead. ... We took a taxi to the hotel so I could throw my stuff in my room. Even though I only had 30 seconds to see it, I was thrilled that it was SO much bigger, more beautiful, and bright than my last room. It doesn’t smell like cigarettes and sewage either!!!! ANNNNDDD... I have a roommate! He is a pet fish! His name is William. I met him quickly and rushed out to get another taxi with Beryl to head to the center.
