... of us so we will definitely get our money’s worth in 2015.

Day 11 of 49 (Sep 18). How rude!! The park maintenance people were out with their huge, noisy lawnmowers at 7 AM this morning. I realize they may want to get a head start while it is cooler, but that is just too darn early. Being on base and being wakened by Reveille is one thing; that’s a wakeup call to get to work, but please…no mowers. I will ...

... short ways back up FSR-708. There’s a large parking area for Burrells Ford campground where we parked. We hiked down the gravel road to the campground and then took the trail towards King Creek Falls. Initially, the trail follows the Foothills Trail to a bridge over King Creek. It’s a short hike, but you sure get a lot of bang for the buck on this one. In a quarter-mile, the trail comes to Brasstown Creek at the top of the waterfall. We ...

... to an annual street car show in Forest City NC, a couple of hours from Seneca. There was a wonderful selection of cars that rivaled any show we attended in the Bay Area. One other notable event was Jazz on the Alley which is free and held every Thursday during the summer, in downtown Seneca. There is quite a diversity of people who attend, the music was excellent, and we had the best wings ever.

... USAirways because they had a direct, non-stop flight from Charlotte to Madrid. Then, a couple of months ago, in their infinite wisdom, USAirways/American decided to cancel our direct flight and re-route us to Madrid by way of Philadelphia. So, we'll kill a couple of hours here in Charlotte and then continue our scenic route (courtesy of the new AmericanAirlines) to Madrid by way of ...
