    Getting used to the Idaho conversational style ofshort responses to most questions, less smiling. Nevertheless, lots of waves, some more extended discussions with some effort. In the history bookI'm reading, in Idaho's first 25 years or so of governance they went through 16 governors. Perhaps it is because they ran out of things to say....

    ... in front of us. Lots of flames and great food! This morning as the kids went to school and Eric and Jen went to work. Gary and Donna and I started tearing apart the really old and inefficient hot tub. The hot tub is in a gazebo and will be a great play place when we get it out.     ... and I sat in the back, and while we missed some of the main action in the front, we were glad because the two boys up front were soaked. The rapids were so fun to go through. The raft rocked back and forth and up and down, and we were all getting soaked and thrown about. There was some fear instilled in us because we could fall off the raft, but that made the experience that much more exhilarating.

    ... It should be ready by Thanksgiving or Christmas. I miss them already. My eyes leaked a few tears on the way out of Washington.
    Today was mostly interstate. Tomorrow I will be taking more back roads through Idaho and Wyoming. My goal is to get to Colorado Springs by Thursday. I will be going through flaming gorge and central Colorado.
