Really, there isn't much to say. I think it was like $45 a night and it was reasonably clean. Just a place to lay your head. If you're looking for anything more, then you're out of luck.

We decided to stay in Dodge City on our way to Ft Collins Colorado. After a very poor choice in Springfield, Mo. we made a more careful choice for our hotel in Dodge City. But because it was Steve's birthday we looked for restaurants ahead and found few choices. So we had a late lunch in Wichita that was very, very good. Steve ...

... and then for dinner we had a squad go to trees amigos. I ate way to much macho burrito and hopefully I don't regret it on the bike tomorrow. I can't believe the trip is over halfway done. I've had enough experiences to last a life time but its been so fun it seems we started ...

Since we've been here before, and its so hot, we won't be touring Boot Hill Cemetery or the Long Branch Saloon again. Instead we'll make use of the park's swimming pool.

Boy am I getting fussy of the Motels I sleep in now. On Route 50 they are few and far between. I went past a couple of sleezy looking Motels and kept going and saw the sign to Dodge. Was there last year and know they have good Hotels/Motels. Arrived in town around 7:30 could hardly see because of the sun/ Headed for Super 8 motel but there was a Days Inn next door and they match Super ...

      Day 7, Dodge City KS

... tee shirt and off you go. We have driven some sections further west but to those who hadn't must have been a disapointment... Dodge city has a touch of old west frontier town, even if today what we see are many meat processing plants on the road side. Another old scruffy hotel but the food at dinner was very good, so there you are do not judge by appearance alone... Not time to upload pictures yet. I will do this on the next rest day. Be sure to revisit the blog for more ...
