        ... way are spectacular. The trail starts by hiking along the bank of Swift Current Lake, then through pine forest with views of gorgeous Lake Josephine. As you gain altitude, you start hugging the cliffs of the mountain.

        Closer to the top, we saw a mama grizzly with two cubs climbing the same steep rocky slope that the trail climbs! Luckily, she was heading away from the trail. But we had perfect views of mama ripping up huge rocks ...

        ... amp; snow on the trail?

        We drove a bit longer on the Going to the Sun Road to see the weeping wall and some scary overlooks. This road, cut in the side of the tall mountains, is an engineering feat. Your car is teetering on the edge of HUGE mountain cliffs. It’s pretty breathtaking.

        ... mistake. Do NOT trust weather forecasts! We did have warm clothing on the hike, which we wore: hats, gloves, fleeces, etc.) The kids played checkers and card games and ate popcorn while I was gone.

        ... Rees and I sawed the logs for the fire and grilled the chicken. After dinner, we drove over to the hotel for the ranger program on wolverines ("Weasels with Attitude"). There are a number of wolverines in Glacier, but they are nocturnal making them difficult to see. We sat by the lobby fire for a few minutes before going home.

        ... of a waterfall a mile away. Iceberg lake sits in a glacier carved amphitheater of stone. There were maybe 50 people hiking the trail but we were so spread out that we felt alone on the mountain. As we climbed the last hill we wondered if there would still be ice in the water. Yes There was still Glacier ice in the water.  And 2 crazy guys stripping to their shorts to jump in! Which they did-and immediately jumped out. ...
