... even that was a challenge. I'm sure the springs are lovely early in the morning, when it's cooler, or at night, when it's cold, as well. That's not to say I didn't like the hot springs, I found them very relaxing, it was just hot during the middle of the day in summer.

Traffic came to a crawl and at a few points stalled altogether.... it was 1:40pm and by the time we got across the bridge it was 2:48 pm or so. After ...

... had picked up in the one of the visitor centres that the NPS had recently completed the largest dam removal project in North America. The Elwha River Ecosystem and Fisheries Restoration Act of 1992 created funding and government support for mitigation of the dams on the Elwha River. The River was a well known Salmon Fishery until 2 dams where built on the River in the early 1900’s. Approval was given to build the dams on condition that fish ladders were installed however ...

... knew if it was going to be edible, but for $2.25 we decided to give it try ( she liked it). Then, we grabbed a coffee at the original Starbucks,(which is a very small storefront) and walked across to a park overlooking the water. Unfortunately, the cinnamon roll smelled a lot better than it tasted, so we just enjoyed the coffee.

After the market, we went back to the hotel to start our ...
