Well, we've been in Potlatch since Sunday (8/17) as we left Anacortes on Sunday morning.

Potlatch is situated on Puget Sound's Hood Canal as you enter the absolutely beautiful Peninsula of Washington. The RV resort we are staying in - the Waterfront at Potlatch is owned by the Skokomish Tribe of Washington. It's a small resort which …

Today was pretty much a driving day and we were doing well until exit 306B of I-5 with only 4 miles or so to Washington State... a reader board alerted drivers to a crash on the I-5 Interstate Bridge and right lane closed ahead. Traffic came to a crawl and at a few points stalled altogether.... it was 1:40pm and by the time we got across the bridge it was 2:48 pm or so. After ...

... 4 million was behind the Elwha Dam. Releasing all of this sediment at once would have had a devastating effect on the remaining habitats downstream from the dams, as well as along beaches at the coast. A drawdown experiment was conducted on the Glines Canyon Dam to assess the erosion of the sediments. The dam was drawn down 5.5 m over one week and then allowed to remain stable for one more week. This test showed that the river would rapidly cut into the existing delta as soon as the ...
