          Very comfortable

I enjoyed my stay here. It is a motel, but I found it very comfortable and roomy. The bed was very comfortable, the room was easily kept warm (it snowed a couple of times while I was there and it got below freezing, but I was snug and warm all the time). There's free WiFi in the room and breakfast was included. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. As I was away all day every day, it was nice to come back to a spacious and warm room. Good value for the money.

Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane

          Distance traveled: 137 miles.

The morning started out with a nice, relaxing drive… to the airport from which we planned on boarding a perfectly good airplane with the intention of bailing out mid-flight. Starting from the moment I awoke, I was terrified. We drove to the airport and immediately had to sign about 6 pages of releases saying "you might die," “you can't sue us if you injure yourself or die” “I ...

          ... were especially very entertaining!

When we were not stalking birds, we explored the area via some hiking trails and visits to historic sites. Entering Red Rock Country from I-17 along State Road #179 (AKA Red Rock Scenic Byway) you experience only one of 27 roads in the USA designated as an “All American Road” designated such for their exceptional and unique recreational, natural and scenic qualities. If there had not been a National ...

The sum up is that we had a terrific time in the Grand Canyon. After the stress of the truck situation in Sedona, it was nice to have two easy and fun days, especially sharing them with Kristine. We left Sedona about 10:30am on 6/28 and for our first pull with the camper, everything worked well. Except for one of the backseat windows not working, everything on the truck seems fine. Again, knock on wood! We arrived to the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon around 1pm and found ...

... of the rocky river bed that I felt closer to God than ever in my life.

I will not try to elaborate too much on the pics, and I can only say the beauty must be experienced in order to truly appreciate.

          Tomorrow............on to the Grand Canyon.

... Valley on tours for a close up view of the Monuments, but because of the storm and the lateness in the day, no more tours were going out. We'll have to do that next time!

The monuments are made of sandstone and the red color comes from iron oxide. This whole plateau was once covered with water, and after the water receded, the land that was left was pushed up by ...
