Beautiful park ! Many places to fish.

Not dog friendly.

Half campsites were on the beach and half on the river.

Riverside has one bathhouse / Air conditioned but not close to all the sites.

Large sites overall.

Rained the first day, flooded 95% of the riverside sites, ours (#54) was the worst with at least 4" of standing water.

No vacant dry spots. Refund issued returned home.

Will try again during dry season. (maybe)

... baggage fee has magically been waived away and my bags are checked all the way to Okinawa.

My parents and I said a really sad and tearful goodbye. It's one of those paramount moments where you feel the entire gravity of what you're about to do weighing on your soul. We made a relatively graceful exit from the marina, in part because we left before the winds picked up and in part because the ...

... tried it before. Both are delicious. Then I have Shrimp and Grits and again it's delicious. It's swilled down with an excellent white wine from Virginia. It is by far the best meal I've had in the US in a long time. In fact it's hard to think of one better. ever.

Wednesday morning I clear the decks workwise. This signals the end of my working week, so I have a hire bike delivered.

During breakfast ...

... in for the rest of the ride to Fayetteville. I usually prefer that back roads but since we got our start around noon I opted for 95 straight to Fayettville, NC. 95 isn't such a bad road in that part of the country. Green and scenic for most of the ride.

Pulled into the Hampton Inn. not bad...a nice meal at the Ruby Tuesdays...nice salad bar...and back to my room where I fell asleep quickly...heading to Norfolk in the Morning....the Full Throttle Tour has a successful first ...
