The keepers took him to the vets as he lost a lot of weight, but after numerous tests the vet couldn't work out what was wrong with him. 3 months later the park opened but his keeper decided as he wasn't well enough to do his show. Tonka was still missing out on his cuddles. After a show one day, the keeper noticed he was desperate to come out, so decided to give Tonka a try, and ...

I thought they had been washed with some sort of fancy shampoo, but the scent they give off is to attract a mate and also mark their territory. - Fur is more like touching a big soft Afro than hair. It's warm and squishy! (Not quite sure I could hide a remote control in his hair though Jazzy Jeff!) We finally got to hold a koala and the one we made friends with was a 2 year old male koala called Thor (like the marvel comic ...

... realize that no, it's just sweat rolling down your back. I encountered my first kangaroo and was actually surprised at his small stature. He was mildly interested in the grain I shoved in his face but the geese and ducks were supper pumped to see me spilling grain from my fingers. Lulling me into a false sense of security he playfully licked by chest before taking a bite. He didn't break the skin so no chlamydia test required. Up early as we intend to go up to
Paluma, Mount Spec National Park which is about 100k's away. As I
would need plenty of energy to do all the walks today it was Fruit
    Loops for breakfast.

It was easy going up to the last 18km
which is very similar to Maquarie Pass just a lot longer. About
way along we stopped of at Little Crystal Creek where Michelle was
happy with the birds while I tracked down a cache. ...
