The owners of the park, father, mother and son, were very friendly and introduced us to some farmed local prawns which we enjoyed very much for dinner that night.
The owners are in the process of completing a Camp Kitchen made completely from timber, which will be magnificent when finished.

We found the most perfect beach!!
... it easy and seeing what's new since our last visit. Today we took a drive to a National Park an hour from Mackay, and discovered the most perfect beach on earth! It's a small bay with headlands either end leading to the next little bay. The main bay, which I am calling "Perfect Beach" has a nearby island reachable via a natural causeway of stones and small rocks at low tide. You can walk right around the island and get back ...
Great family catch up
Arriving at Mackay late afternoon we stayed with Rohan & Casey Frew and their 20 mth old Archie at Bucasia. Craig managed to back the van through a slim gateway into the front garden ( his backing skills are A grade now- wife no longer swearing under her breathe as she smiles to her attentive husband and politely says " more right hand down").
