... we wandered round the only settlement on the island to find a restaurant. We found a nice little place serving fresh seafood, overlooking the beach. ... Carlos and Vito were hilarious and friendly and were dedicated to helping us see all kinds of ocean wildlife. Vitoīs favorite expression when it started raining was ĻIf you donīt want to get wet, jump in the water!Ļ. Which was probably good advice since at one point it poured cold rain that whipped our faces as the boat drove us around. ... a bit. The weather had started to turn nasty on our last day of diving which made for some hairy scary descents and ascents and no small amount of deep sea puking. But unfortunately the both was to depart as planned on the saturday morning and we left Caye Caulker on The Ragga King boat for our next adventure. Travellers Tips Frenchies were great, same price as everywhere 300 USD. Rosies Grill. Just do it. If they have gruper eat it, but the shrimp kebabs are yummy as well ...

... When we finally reached Belize City, we promptly took a taxi to the port to catch our ferry to get to Caye Caulker. We heard so many amazing things from Dave, who had been there the week before that we could not miss it. He was right...Iīve decided itīs my favourite Carribean spot! A large part of sea was turquoise-clear and makes you think you could probably walk all the way to the reef crest! Upon arrival at Caye Caulker, we were swarmed by the locals working for ...

... giggles. After having dinner and a couple of tropical drinks, we headed back to town. On the way back, we walked along Front Street instead of the beach. We heard music blaring, but couldn't tell what was going on. That is until we saw the drag queens dancing in the street - literally stopping traffic. Another San Pedro Carnaval tradition! They were following a red pickup truck with a keyboardist playing music. The funniest thing was that ...

... Caye Caulker though was to dive the famous Blue Hole! It's this massive 1000ft diameter hole that used to be an underground cave. It's quite an intense dive though cos you can't safely stay under long because of the depth you go to. We had 3 minutes max to descend 140ft (if we have any problems descending it's just too bad and you have to turn back by yourself) - starts with a sandy slope then sharp drop then you go under ...

... How lucky can you get? We did have a look for a live aboard (staying and sleeping on the boat) but no. To start with the price: about 1500 dollar a person a week. And they all sail a whole week. I do not want to be on a small surface with lots of people for a week. I did this with the girls on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and that was very nice. ... day we just chilled out on the beach at the resort again and had a few quite beers which was nice and relaxing then we went out for a few noisy beers, bar hopping through the town. San Pedro is quite similar to Caye Caulker but is a bit more developed and has lots more people and traffic getting about. On our third day at San Pedro we caught a small plane back to Corozal, a taxi back to the Mexican boarder and were soon driving back up the Yutican peninsula.
