Very sad to leave Washington DC this morning. We barely scratched the surface. Flew out of Ronald Reagan Airport. Much closer than Dulles Airport in Virginia that we had flown into 4 days ago.

As we flew north, the snow on the ground thickened and we thought it might be a bit chilly, even snowy, at Buffalo, but no, it thinned before we landed and blue skies and sun prevailed.

Camp finished on the 17th of August and I headed back to Toronto on the staff bus. Charlotte and I stayed in a hotel and revelled in the luxury of a double bed each, air conditioning and having a bathroom located in the same room. We then headed out for dinner with a lot of the staff for one last time.

As I stood at the railing, I was a mere 6 metres from the billowing torrents of the Bridal Veil Falls. The rushing waters loomed above me, dousing me with a generous spray as I faced the thundering falls head-on.
