    During the months of September and October our cruiser friends were taking time off to visit family and friends back home. I was told that airplane tickets were cheapest during this time. We had planned a visit back to New England at one point, it seemed like a good time to make a trip back up north.

    ... into Fryeburg, ME and check out lodging options. Maura choppered ahead and made arrangements to stay at a deserted campground several miles west of town. We set up the Kelty within sight of the slow moving Saco River.
    The empty campground gave us an eerie, kinda uncomfortable feeling, but we had a good night's sleep for $30.

    ... tired, but I was enjoying it so much my feet just kept a walking! I probably got an hours hike in after lunch! So when I got back to the motel, I was dripping in sweat but quite content. I headed down to the dock on the lake with a book and enjoyed a good read and a nice conversation with my motel-mates next door. A third couple also arrived today ~ they are from Germany.
