... about how amazing it was. He's not had the opportunity to see much outside of Wellington since arriving here 9 months ago so I think it was a bit of an eye opener. He's heading north from here as I go south so I told him about the places I'd managed to see already such as Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula, Waitomo and Paihia in particular, turns out he's gonna see them too :)

I felt a bit bad for Michael that evening, we just couldn't stop talking ...

Dad failed to win us $10,000 by not getting a hole in one, even though the hole was only 111 yards away. Ok, it was in the middle of a lake, but still! He did manage to get it very close every time though, so I suppose he did us proud in front of the other people trying it too. He didn’t do very at mini golf though- his short game lets him down, ha. Unfortunately he still beat me and Mum.
