... ist doch recht hart zu tragen (ich hatte auch noch ein paar Tage spaeter Druckstellen). Aer irgendwann bin ich doch am Ziel angekommen - aber das nur die der tatkraeftigen Unterstuetzung von Christina, die das Kanu gehalten hat, wenn ich nicht mehr konnte und eine Pause machen musste. Ich bin doch wirklich ein Schwaechling.. ;-)
Die war aber nicht die einzige Portage an diesem Tag, es folgten noch zwei weitere, die aber beide Recht kurz waren.

... und zu fragen ob jemand eines d** drei zusaetzlichen Zelte, die uns**e Gruppe uebrig hatte, benoetige. Da hab ich mich sofort freiwiliig gemeldet und so gings gleich wied** aufs Wass**.

... gelohnt: ich hatte die Chance **st mal alles aus uns**** Gruppe kennenzul**nen (War ja nicht bei dem Vortreffen und kannte keinen..) und wir haben noch eine kleine Sighseeing Tour durch Hamilton bekommen, einen Abstech** in Alecs Appartment und zur Wat**front gemacht.

... the front providing the power (and the patronising comments too). Once we got the hang of it we had a smoothish journey, which was so quiet and wonderful on a crisp sunnny day, and we stayed dry!!!

The nature count was poor though, 1 otter, 1 heron and a toad. But we live in hope of seeing beaver, moose and bears soon. We have seen many raccoons, sadly all dead on the side of the road.

Well time to hit the road.

Wir fuhren Richtung Algonquin Provincial Park, welcher auf unserem Weg Richtung Ottawa liegt.

Eine kurze Wanderung, welche in unserem Reiseführer empfohlen wurde, brachte uns zu Stromschnellen. Wir mussten allerdings zweimal hinschauen, denn so gross waren die nun auch wieder nicht.

Am späteren Nachmittag sind wir dann in unserem Campingplatz angekommen und haben es uns gemütlich gemacht.

this store is seriously where everybody goes for everything. they
have life jackets to gifts, from lumber for fire to a fresh fruit

right next door to the grocery store however, is an icecream

J wanted to take me on the Segwun, a really old steamship that tours the whole of lake Muskoka. These lakes are totally beautiful and utterly serene. The weather wasn't very cooperative, though, so we decided to head straight home.
