Deserts, Sand Dunes…and London Bridge?!!!

A travel blog entry by zoesevi

Saturday 21st June -

We left San Diego and headed off towards our next location - Lake Havasu.

The drive down was amazing (yes I know we keep saying everything is amazing and breath taking and lovely – but it is!!).

The landscape changed practically every hour, first it was desert then we passed through an area of pure sand dunes, which was …(wait for it)…visually stunning…& amazing!! ;-) and after that through areas ...

We started off by heading into the channel where London Bridge is, ...

Journey along the desert to the oasis Lake Havasu

... on old westerns or cartoons.

Whilst it was still desert in the distance, at the sides of the River we even saw green land interspersed with the occasional immaculate golf course. Here we had to stop at a railway crossing for a train that took about 15 minutes to drive past as it was so long. This must be the longest train I've ever seen, at a guess the expert on our van thought it ...
