... I didn't even know I had but I also seem to be adding a lot more to it. We decided after the fail of the mountain walk, we didn't really have too much left to do in Taupo. We saw a leaflet for a honey factory so thought we would give that a go. One it was indoors and it was still raining and two it was free. Bonus. We drove over there, a pretty good drive. We had to drive past the Huka Falls again. It was only. 10 minute drive from Taupo centre. It was a lovely little place, there ...

While waiting, a teacher stops in to order 8 dozen hot cross buns so she can treat the school kids tomorrow..sounds like my kind of school! We pick up my sandals, they are good to go..back to the motel to pack up and head off to Taupo. About an hour later we pulling into our next home, The Huka Falls Resort. This is a beautiful place just outside of town...there are 33 duplex ...

We then returned to Taupo and cooked a questionable mango curry with minced beef, but it tasted alright! It was followed by an early night as tomorrow we'd be up at 5am to climb a rather famous ...

... the same area as Greater London, and I do have to admit it is extremely big. We went across to the other side to view some rock cliff carvings. At first you would think these would have ancient heritage significance. However, they were completed over 3 summers in the 70's by a few chaps 'because they could'; very impressive none the less (pic). We have found a nice gastro pub down the road and I am going to treat myself to some Liver & Bacon with mash & onion gravy....yum ...
