      ... thought after I caught my breath was, "Thank goodness Mom isn't here, she would've killed me..." haha! It reminded me of when we were in this little chapel in Paris and I tripped on a steep, narrow, spiral staircase going up to the sanctuary and almost fell down the stairs, and her response is "KATIE..." like I was in trouble!       Taupo was actually quite a lot bigger than I thought it was with a number of streets with bars, restaurants and shops. Our accommodation, as it had been in Paihia was quite a distance from the town centre (around a 5-10 minutes taxi ride) and it was lovely. We had our own apartment with a balcony and huge French doors. We even had a spa bath!       ... delicious food in a while so had plenty of seconds! We were treated to another song after dinner as they sang goodbye to us. The next morning we visited Te Puia, which is another Maori culture centre and geothermal park. We got to visit the carving and weaving school and then went round to see the geysers exploding.
