After a short flight from Fiji, we touched down in Auckland very early in the morning! Eventually we checked into our hostel and got a bit of sleep although it is FREEZING here! Nice change from the heat though! We woke up and headed into town in search of some warmer clothes and to have a look around. We must admit we treated ourselves to a nandos for lunch! Auckland is a nice city with lots going on even though it was a Sunday. We walked down to the harbour and ...
... but survived. The rest of the dive was a brilliant view over Taupo. My new best Irish friend (mainly because he had just secured my life) explained what everything was and when I asked him if he could ever get tired of his job he simply said "it's impossible, I work in one of the most beautiful places in the world" and he was right. The ground was fast approaching and as we approached it felt like we were going too fast, it looked like we had made an error and were about to ...

It took a good few seconds for me to realise what had just happened! Its an indescribable feeling. Amazing! Nothing like it. My camera man was falling right in front of me - doing ...
... had to leave on Sunday. I managed to walk around (with a scarf and a sweatshirt) in the late morning and get some pictures but of course, the sun came out and got all sunny just before I got on the bus back to Auckland. So overall, i was disappointed with Taupo but for unfair reasons like the weather and not being able to do the Tongariro Crossing (it's a national park and it was closed all weekend due to the bad weather!).
