We got away from our hotel just before 9:30 after enjoying our complimentary continental breakfast (it said all the right things). Before leaving Santa Barbara we decided to check out the Santa Barbara mission about 5 minutes away. It was pretty impressive and a nice little piece of California's history. Beautifully presented with garnishes of tomato, cucumber, hard boiled egg, and paper thin slices of raw yellow beets ...

... were a refreshing change for us and the kids had a lot of time to play with other children their age. We had fun meeting new and interesting people. Those fun stretches were guaranteed to be interrupted by mind-numbing, interminable waits in airports and torturous sleeping conditions at times. There were moments when I would have ratted on my grandmother just to spend a ...

        Questions asked of him:

        What was fun about today?
What was fun about today was swimming. Tomorrow I hope we can go fishing and bike riding.

What was not fun about today?
What was not fun about today was sitting in the car not being able to stretch at all.
