    ... sleep over at Pasa Robles, a short drive to Pismo the next morning. Since our checking was only 12:00 PM we drove through to Grover beach where we spent the morning walking the beach to Pismo Beach and back.     We spent a lazy morning walking around this friendly and relaxed city. Apparently it's North America's happiest. Everyone was certainly welcoming and helpful, from the volunteers in the (dull) museum to the sales assistants in Banana Republic (was naughty).     We left LA and headed north on California Highway 1. We decided we would drive as far as we wanted for the day and then find a place to camp on the beach.
