      ... but everything was closed. We did see a bride getting photos and setup for a wedding. That's about all the excitement there so we headed back to the highway.

      Our trek took us through Anchorage so we detoured through Kincaid Park, where we'd seen several moose last week. This time we weren't so lucky.       Then it was back to the lodge and get ready for the coach to McKinly..
      Once more we did the stampede for the bus with CJ elbowing her way to the good seats...

      This was the day we would celebrate Mothers Day as John had to work on Sunday. We left his apartment at 10am and drove north to Palmer, an hour north. Just outside of town we hiked "lazy mountain trail". Not sure who's sick sense of humour it was to name it this or the one that listed it as "moderate to difficult" hike.       ... s why I sacrificed my sleep & got up early. I was told that there was a 2 hour one at noon, which I knew about but didn’t fancy. I asked about the 3 hour one but, not only was it being delayed by 1 hour, (ie 4.30pm departure) but it needed 6 people on it to run & they had no bookings at that time.
