Well, not ALL day, but most of it. The day started cloudy but with promise, so we got our beach towels and flip flops ready and headed for the beach. As I hoped for my first July 4, the town was decked out in full red, white and blue. Flags hanging from buildings, flags flying from trucks, flags on t-shirts, flags on hats, flags everywhere. Quite a spectacle. Everyone was in a great mood, setting up their gazebos ...

    PCT day 69. 6/27/15

Saturday, June 27, 2015. PCT 69. Miles 1018-1041. I got to the trail head by 0900 thanks to Awol. I was not expecting to arrive to the trailhead so early. She called me back asap and said she'd call back in 5 minutes. But I couldn't ...

... zipping around (as did the dads). There were some minor injuries of course - Benjamin slammed into the pads at the end of a zip-line and Sam managed to go so fast on the longest zip-line that he carried on going right over the landing area and into the unpadded tree at the end that it's impossible to make it to! It was an adrenaline filled couple of hours in another picture perfect setting.

After our session we went over to look at the ...

    South Lake Tahoe Day 4

Today we hiked to Angora Lake which consists of upper and lower lakes. Once we reached our destination at 7340' elevation, we were surprised to see so many people, young and old, picnicking along the water's edge and actually swimming, rowing, and paddle boarding on the icy water. Snow still lines its sandy shores and Echo Peak majestically overlooks this aquatic playground. We enjoyed a picnic lunch on a nearby picnic table and Gary treated us to a pitcher of fresh ...
