    ... head and the lack of sleep the night before is making me imagine things.

    Indeed I do have a headache and feel tired, and just want this section to end. The surface is now undulating slightly, and just as I get to the crest of one mound, certain that this is near the end, I see that there is at least another kilometre or so spreading out ahead of me. Eventually, however, I see the hut and campsite in a green gully with a stream down below.

    ... green colour, presumably from the moss covering the rock. In the background is a glacier. Its a beautiful sight.

    After a long steep descent I finally get down to the bottom and then its another hour's walk to the lake and the campsite. Exhausted after a day of eight hours walking, I put up the tent, eat some dinner, and go for a stroll along the lake shore during the golden hour. The sun lights up the green ridges surrounding the lake beautifully.

    ... and had our first stop. Reno station has the aesthetics of Birmingham New Street station, so it was not a great place to stop. After this we carried on following the I-80 in the direction of Utah. After ten minutes we passed Wild Island, where we spent last Saturday, and then we were into unfamiliar territory. The scenery changed a lot over the time before the next stop, with mountains, large flat scrub areas and the occasional green valley.

    What a crazy 36 hours. We left on time from Reno Tahoe international airport and arrived in LA on a quick hour and ten minute flight. The airport in LA is quite upscale with all the shopping stores one could ask for; Victoria's Secret, Bose, see's candy. Not this mother daughter team but obviously someone gives a hoot about that stuff. Found the gate to Paris and only waited about two hours. Spent our time partaking in ...
