... around the edge of the lake. Because of the stillness of the water and the brilliant blue sky, the water is like a mirror, reflecting perfectly the hills and ridges surrounding it.

Then after packing up the tent, still wet from warmed up frost from the freezing night before, I set off on the trail again. Fairly soon I come to the first river ford. I had heard that there are several rivers to cross on this trail that have no bridge and require a hiker ...

... time. We arrive at the next hut, Hraffntinusker, at about the same time, in around four hours. This hut is in a beautiful setting, with mountains all around, but the campsite does not look too inviting, as it is in a very exposed location. ... zipping around (as did the dads). There were some minor injuries of course - Benjamin slammed into the pads at the end of a zip-line and Sam managed to go so fast on the longest zip-line that he carried on going right over the landing area and into the unpadded tree at the end that it's impossible to make it to! It was an adrenaline filled couple of hours in another picture perfect setting.

After our session we went over to look at the ...

... it and it made for a relaxing morning.

We met up with Cindy and Abby at Idlewild Park by the river. I got to catch up with them, and the kids had a great time. Brenna and her family joined us later, and then we all went out for dinner. It's hard for me to believe that I hadn't seen them in over 10 years. We used to get together all the time when I was a kid, but we all moved away. It meant a lot to see all ...
