        One of the prettiest spots was at Topaz Lake. We took a number of photos from different spots, really hard not to stop.         CELL PHONES:
        Call your carrier and make sure your phone is compatible with Canadian carriers. Ours offered an international plan at a reasonable price. Old phones like my flip phone are only work in certain locations. We were more successful using Jil's "smart" phone. Even then cell service is iffy. Most of the time cell service is not available except in close proximity of a larger town. ...

        We managed to park on the road near to our favourite spot on the beach so it was not too busy at that point.         ... on from here we climbed the ranges peaking at Sagehen Pass (8139') amongst delightful pines which stayed with us as we descended the western side to Mono Lake, which we had seen in 2012. Stopped at the Mono Mill site which had a good display of this once timber mill and railroad which supplied nearby (well, 30 miles away) Bodie.
