... for dessert, mint chocolate chip ice cream pie with a chocolate rice crispy crust, delicious. It was a great evening listening to the stories of their travels, hearing about their town and getting their pitch for Oregon. People keep telling us that we will soon fall in love with Portland. We made the drive back and once again called it an early evening.
It was a very laid back three days in Opal Creek. It was just what our bodies needed after our Bend adventure. ...

... On the way back towards Eugene, we follow another scenic
and winding road along the McKenzie River through the Willamette National
Forest. We barely see another car in either direction for miles!

And those marionberries?

A variety of blueberry bred by the US Dept of Agriculture in collaboration with
Oregon State University. Make for delicious pies and crumbles....
