Whilst the 2x Dave's were gallivanting on their bikes, LJ stayed with Chris (Brenda turned up), Denny and Mushroom and they wander along the shop fronts around the pier. They were a weebit disappointed with what they had found - it was the usual tat that can be found in any sea-side town's shops. They then wandered up the beach and settled down having Iced-Tea in a small beach-side cafe, but not before mushroom had made them all laugh ...
... was a 110 mile affair and the air temperature was over 110F, with the road temp apparently at 144F. All was going well until about 40 miles to go. I was riding this last leg with Dave and he said that he was having trouble concentrating and that he couldn't keep the bike in a 100% straight line and he was starting to feel a wee bit light headed. Received confirmation today (July 11th, 2013) that our good friend Dale has passed through customs and will be boarding his new home this evening! Post was made for July 5th as this is the day we dropped off our dear friend at the port in Galveston.
Next stop for the car: Guayaquil, Ecuador.

We're going to check out the Harbor Side of things here, check out touristy Postal Street, etc. Heading out tomorrow for Lafayette to see Danielle and her stomping grounds.
Yes, we are leaving Texas. Almost five weeks later my opinion is changed. What we saw we really enjoyed. There are places I'll visit again. Texas isn't all bad.
