... are docked, though it surely didn't look then as it looks today. Her aunt was born here as well and named after a popular bishop of the mid 1800's who lived here for a while. His house is now part of a row of historic homes just a few steps from Meander.

This evening we watched a ship transit the locks then went to dinner. Tomorrow we will meander down the river towards De Tour.

... again. More beauty, more fall color, more wildlife. At some point, traffic in all 4 lanes (2 in each direction) suddenly braked as a family of 4 raccoons decided to cross the road... a mama and her 3 young coons... but the one in the rear got stage fright, as we all sat there and watched them... and he turned back, hesitantly... looking at us, looking at his family.
