Visiting Grandma!
... i found piglets alive in china! :) It was set up to keep the history of chinese farming alive, but now its just a nice day out wandering around and there is a large lake in the middle with boat rides and ox rides and a funfair! It was brilliant, we had so much fun! I learnt a lot too! Alissa was a lot like me and we got on so well, it was a shame i only got to meet her for one day! But we keep in touch through email and QQ and were planning to meet up in suzhou before i leave! :)

Monday 17th
September
Unfortunately Barrie has been unwell and is struggling but
bravely carrying on where he can. A couple of others in the group have also
been feeling unwell so we presume the same virus. Sharon is so caring and
escorted us to a Chinese pharmacy last night which was an experience in itself!
Very old fashioned and little boxes on the walls containing medicines. So a bit
of trust in our tour ...

If you don't like smoking, don't come! With cigarettes on sale for around 50p a pack smoking is a national hobby in China and allowed everywhere, its a sign of respect to give someone else a cigarette and extremely rude to refuse. Matt was most happy with this!
If you don't like gobbing in the street don't come, Woman in fact beat men when it hocking up a big greeny and spitting it anywhere and everywhere.

Yangzhou- rich in history - big in character
... also took me to meet her grandmother who has lived in one of the back alley of this street for over 60 years. Difficulty in conversing with my limited Chinese but she was delighted when I accepted a cup of tea. At the end of the street lies the Grand Canal providing us the opportunity to see this waterway as it winds its way from Beijing to Hangzhou. WOW what a walk through history this street proved to be.
Next stop was Geyuan or Ge Garden....... I just can't ...
