... up at a free dock at Fishy Fishy Seafood and had lunch. Finished eating and sat in the boat, still socked in. A patch of blue showed up and I thought the fog was finally clearing. Wrong! We crept out of Southport with maybe 50 ft viz at dead low tide that was just starting to reverse. We will have a nice breakfast out and take advantage of this classy place tomorrow Am. Drew is holding up but hope to have Dr. apt. in line tomorrow am.

... of the fast approaching cold weather and we ended up driving through the central part of NC which is flat and doesn’t have much to offer. We are definitely coastline or mountain people through and through. We stopped at Front Street Brew Pub which offered a free tour and tasting of their facilities and we don’t pass up free things, especially when that’s beer! ... two hour trip down the Cape Fear River, with wind opposing tide, was lumpy but manageable and making the turn into Southport was a welcome difference from the rough ride down the River.

... gorgeous as the beach was, there were two reasons for us to return home, the Pack and Thanksgiving dinner, it was an easy decision.
