... would take us to the condor viewing area called Cruz del Condor. I woke up with a fever so that was the opposite of fun. I knew we weren't going to have another chance to do this so I sucked it up, took some Tylenol and just carried on. Of course the bus was packed full and we had to stand in the aisle for the 30 minutes in the bumpy windy dirt road. I ended up sitting. I just felt so dizzy! ... had a cosy dog for lunch. It was what we know as a dagwood dog - battered hot dog deep fried. I can still hear my arteries groaning.

We continued on Route 66 to Atlanta where we saw a giant statue of John Bunyan holding a hot dog. He used to be holding an axe when he was positioned in Arizona years ago. Had a piece of Apple Strudel pie in the Palms Grill Cafe.

Followed the highway 55 to Bloomington where we missed a turn but eventually ...

It was sprinkling this morning, but we decided to drive down to Amish Country in Arthur and Arcola, Illinois.  Found out that the man who developed The Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls was from Arcola.  It also is the corn broom capital of the US.  We found the Amish community and was just amazed at all the buggy traffic in the area.  Saw an Amish school with all the beautiful little children.  ...
