    Visit to TRF, Minnesota

A travel blog entry by noeljrblog on May 26, 2015

... We had great visit with Art and Virginia. Again, I forgot to take pictures - the camera was in the truck - my BAD. We also had a chance to explore TRF. I found the house that Don and Tress lived. I also seen the candy store which is now an Edward Jones Investment office. We also stopped at the beach part on the Thief River. We enjoyed our visit to TRF and headed back to Detroit Lakes.

    Happy Trails,
    Chuck and Sheila Noel.

    Detroit Lakes, MN

Traveled to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We are staying overnight at Forest Hills RV Resort. The resort is located on a nice golf course. Unfortunately, the golf course is maintained with Toro and Jack equipment.

On our way to Detroit Lakes, we explored some of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. We seen a lot of water fowl but that was really the extent of wildlife we encountered.

Chilled out the rest of the day.

    Happy Trails,

Traveled today from Grand Portage, MN to Bemidji, MN. On the way, we missed Betty's Pies. The parking lot was packed full, no place for the truck and coach.

Bemidji is the home of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. We checked out the statue by Lake Bemidji while on our way to dinner. We will spend the overnight here and head to Detroit Lakes, MN tomorrow.

    Happy Trails,

We walked across the Mississippi River head water and walked around the Park. Before we left visited the gift shop. Went downtown and see Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. Then went ...

... for economic and political reasons. Will we go back? Quite likely , though to see different areas. Although the travel there and back is extensive, it is a wonderful place for us to get away from winter., and we would consider a combination of self cater options with some safari or other luxury accommodations sprinkled in for a splurge. In the meantime, so long ...
