    ... But, no! To our delight the sound was just trains being shunted about in the grain elevator yard, way outside of town. All we heard was some low rumbling. No horns. Nothing else. And it only lasted about an hour or so. Somewhere nearby there is either a horse or cattle barn or field because every once in a while this earthy, manure odour wafts's not horrible, just a gentle reminder that we are in farm country.     ... having lunch, we hit the road. We still had a long trek to Fargo, which is just over the border in North Dakota. And the further west we went, the larger the farms seemed to be. No longer were the farm houses obvious to us from the road…only miles of crops and many little lakes. Minnesota is The Land of 10,000 Lakes. I guess irrigation is not an issue in Minnesota.

    We landed in Fargo a 4:30 a bit spent. Tomorrow, we head to Montana, Big Sky Country. ...

    Simon and I headed out to the mall. Simon drove whilst I held the sat nav. We didn't buy anything but I rea enjoyed my baked potato soup at chillies.
