... photos with the lions at the NY Public Library, Grand Central Terminal (not a station!), down to Madison Square Garden as a NY Knicks training session wound up & the place was teeming with Knicks fans. Back into the subway at Penn Station, down to Whole Foods to get fruit for breakfast then a 20 block walk home. Walked in at 6.30pm. Haven't stopped. Great fun. ... one portion of food to share between the two of us as we would just waste if we ordered more. This does get us rather strange looks from the locals as they tuck into their mounds of food.
As much as we wanted to head out and explore jetlag had finally hit and we decided to head back to the hotel to rest it out with the assumption that after a quick nap we would be ready to go again. This didn't happen and by 7pm we were both fast asleep.
Oh well, just more to do ...
... an extra piece of luggage on the way back. It was $39. Then we had a snack at Kentucky Fried, and wandered slowly home. I was carrying my backpack with all my clothes and shoes and stuff for the weekend so it was quite heavy. It was lively on the streets, with plenty of street vendors appearing and it would have been nice to have stayed out later really, but not with carrying our gear. So we got back by about 9pm and didn't go out ...
... though the next train will be arriving in about four minutes. Today we did laundry and reluctantly started packing. By the time we were a little bit organised it was after 10 and we headed back to "Coffee Friends" the place we went on our first morning in NY for a breakfast burrito. For some reason after 10am the restaurant classifies meals as brunch and doubles the price! Had we know we may have hurried! ...
... is all spread out on 5 levels! There were so many other shops but we just didn't have time to go through them all. One we missed but will go back to is Niketown! Note; For the best bargains you should try buy things at the end of a season! Amazingly cheaper! We then went back to our regular store (yep, Whole Food Markets!) for some late lunch. As we walked out of the center we came across an accident that had just happened on the street... Taxi VS Motorbike. Everyone was crowded ...
