So driving through Minnesota today we saw a helicopter with a guy hanging from a line similar to the military and then he slowed at the power line pole. The power poles are approximately 100 feet tall metal, and apparently the local power company uses a helicopter to get guys from pole to pole to work on them. The helicopter yo weed at the power pole to let the guy transfer to the arm with the wires. Who knew ...

... for their farmland and were growing huge windmills along with their corn!

We stopped for dinner at a Perkins where we decided instead of going all the way to South Dakota, we would stop in Luverne for the night. Mom was a bit road weary and ready for a stretch and a good night's sleep.

Our total mileage for today was 386 miles. Tomorrow we're heading for the Western side of South Dakota! We'll see if we get there!

... end of the day so while Carrie took her to get into the car and sleep, Oriah and Claire and I HAD to check out the Barbie Dream House experience - we didn't go through the tour but we got to see the outside of the Dream House and try our hands at having Princess Power! Then back to the car, after two days of very little driving we had to get to Sheldon, Iowa tonight ...

... Pete had a good TBone but I had something called a club steak. It looked like a T bone but had more bone than tender meat. Expensive and disappointed. It is staying light here so late. The sun was high in the sky at 7! Still light now at 9. Tomorrow is an even longer drive day to Sturgis. We didn't get there the last time we were in SD. The area is very windy in summer and many windsurfing competitions are held here at that time, along with famous turkey races, with some people bringing their turkeys from as far away as Texas????????? In winter it is very cold and the lake freezes to well over a metre of ice, and so the skating season begins!!!
