... we changed our plans to go through Sheridan, WY on our way to Rapid City. I found Peter D's RV park. His recording said he had spots available for latecomers and that staying at Pete's had nutritional value - if we didn't stay, Pete didn't eat. Haha! ... emergency brake was on in the tow vehicle…checked twice ..just the force of driving into the wind. Amazing. Up, Up, Up we drove. Spectacular views, snow covered of course and very icy at the summit with the wind blowing 75 mph. The rv really struggled in a few places, combination of elevation and steep mountains. Once we crested and started downhill, we both sighed, a big relief. We stopped and let Mazy sniff the ...

I went down to Durant, picked up a copy of the local paper the Durant Courant and had supper at the Busy Bee next to the Occidental Hotel… even helped celebrate Dorothy’s birthday with a piece of her birthday cake, which is not “the usual”. Are you lost? You might want to tune in the TV show, or pick up a volume in the series, The Cold Dish is the first and a good place to start. More on all of this ...
