... to what is called the "last great wilderness in the US" We have Chaco the guard dog - HA - camera's, paints & sketch book, rubber boots, rain gear, bug spray, campfire in a can (more on that later), golf clubs (who knows were we can golf), gold panning equipment/supplies, too many cloths, too much food, our credit cards and some cash, a brand new RV with a great GPS, and best of all, our spirit of adventure. ... Lodge we saw a crazy looking café/restaurant on the side of the road. Once again it looked too quaint and American not to turn around so we turned around and decided as long as it wasn’t extortionate we would eat lunch here. It turned out what we had seen was the back of the place which was filled with American paraphernalia including saloon doors. They obviously used the crazy decoration to draw tourists in off the road but that didn’t mean the inside ...
... though we have been using sunscreen. Between the rain and sun it plays havock on your skin. Can't wait to see what we look like at the end. The ride today although hot was very nice. Started with the corn fields, went thru the Black Hills of SD and plateau's in WY. Very beautiful country it wouldnt do justice to be in a car. ... a pix at the continental divide but we were past it way too fast. Wyoming didn't look much different than Montana, just a smidgen greener hue to the up and down hills. Of course, Linda remembered the name of the motel wrong. Good thing she had a confirmation email so we could get where we needed to go. It's a pretty nice place, all the same. Gonna go to dinner pretty quick. It's 7:30 here. First gonna try to get pics in this and send it out. We'll chat again ...
... a couple of hundred white tail deer and only about 10 mule deer. John said that there was 50 mule deer for every white tail 40 years ago but now there are 50 white tail for every mule deer. He doesn't know why. He said winters here are milder with a lot less snow so maybe the white tail now has an advantage.
