... can finally say that all my stuff is packed away in a suitcase, duffel, and backpack. Not gonna lie I'm pretty impressed with myself. Six months of my life packed away into 3 square feet of space.
Tonight I head up to the cities. Take off is at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Less than 24 hours left in the States. Such mixed feelings right now, excitement paired with longing for home is not an ideal combination.

Four hours later we make it home. The cats are thrilled to see us. I drop my gear on the hallway floor, and, escorted by my furry children, head straight for the shower. Then to bed. My mattress is so soft I feel like I’m floating.

... I have already been legally cleared, the only step left is the medical clearance, including dental, and then placement!
UPDATE: I was officially medically and dentally cleared as of September 27, 2011!!! Getting cleared was such a huge accomplishment and sense of relief I feel that it is all downhill from here, as far as the administrative side of getting to my site. Of course there will be times while serving that I am feeling tested, pushed, and overwhelmed but ...
