My birth state! (Angela)

A travel blog entry by rogerspartyof2 on Aug 08, 2015

Angela- we are finally at the half way point. I drove all morning and we stopped at a Starbucks in Lincoln to rest and refuel (on coffee, that is). I was really excited when we crossed the border and saw signs for Omaha Nebraska that I shouted 'this is where I was born' even though I clearly wasn't born on the highway... Lol... It was smooth sailing while Seth slept because I could go 75mph! Now I'm going to take a nap and let him drive the rest of the day... Tune in ...

It rained a bit overnight, but had stopped by morning. We got up around 8:00, Alex and Nick had to go to the bathroom. We got changed, ate breakfast, and took down the tent. Then we took showers and went to bed. The ...

So discussions ensued about other options, which included flying on to Chicago and then back to Omaha arriving at midnight. I almost had us going to Miner North Dakota, instead of the intended Mina South Dakota, where we are to stay ...

... and promptly taxied to an empty hangar to let the storm go by.
Right now, the aftermath of this storm looks like low clouds and showers for 100 miles to the NW! I may be here a while.

The blog entries are getting a little confusing with two different airplanes traveling two different routes. So just ignore the auto generated route line on the map. CarolAnn and I should be meeting up in Belle Fourche, SD early next week.
