After meeting a couple people unenthusiastically from Nebraska and being told the same story again and again........... we still went through Nebraska. Because I just wanted a shot glass that said we were in Nebraska. After a million stops we finally found a store that sold one or two. We went into Kody park in Keith County and found some cowboys and covered wagons. And that was ...

When arriving at Lincoln, we had spent a total of $106.43 in gas at a Shell and Chevron. When we ran out of food in our ice chest, we ate at Deny's Diner for some good old American breakfast for $12.27. ... Friday: Today was a travel day. We drove through the rest of New Mexico, northern Texas, and into Oklahoma. Yesterday the temp was in the 80s and most of today in the 40s! It is cloudy and drizzling off and on. Not much to see on this drive. We did see hundreds (Mike says thousands) of cattle in muddy pens with a sign that said Quality beef products. Didn't look like quality to us. Disgusting. We are staying in Elk City, Oklahoma tonight.

I would keep rambling but I should hit the road and I am getting awfully sick of listening to these Starbucks employees. I'd rather be listening to Carol King belt it out. Plus, JoJo is probably getting lonely in the car. (My awesome co-pilot -- a huge gorilla stuffed animal. Had him since I was like 3.) Off to St. Louis! ...

1030 AM start and nice riding on Hwy 26 eastbound out of Scott's Bluff, Nebraska. The bluff btw is a prominent geological feature nearby the town site, prolly discovered by Scott!

Not far down the road is Chimney Rock, a unique geological feature almost 300' high that was once an active volcano. Over the years, and I mean eons, the softer outer skin of the volcano eroded away leaving only the ...
