... had all the classics; Big dipper, spin ball, log flume, pirate ship, the waltzes. There were the classic stalls with impossible prizes to be won, many tried and failed. We couldn't resist a go. We went on the Ferris wheel, giving us a fantastic view across the park before riding the log flume to get a soaking. Mom and Dad would set up camp for us on the beach (by camp, I mean coolers, umbrellas, towels etc) and we would boogie board in the ocean and take breaks going up to the Boardwalk to play games or go on rides or purchase delicious/nutritious snacks like cotton candy, corn dogs & chocolate dipped ice creams.

Arlene and I had Grilled Eggplant Napoleon which was grilled eggplant, mozzarella cheese, roasted red pepper, caramelized onions on a brioche and drizzled with a balsamic sauce. It was so good!!!!! Dick had a grilled chicken organic red leaf salad. He loved it! Wayne had a pork tenderloin sandwich that he really enjoyed, too! We loved it so much that we went back for dinner last night! Today was a planned, "take it easy" day. The plan was to visit a giant redwood forest just outside Santa Cruz and then maybe catch some waves. What actually happened was we spent all morning trying to unlock and reactivate Sarah's phone which APPEARED to fail so we drove to AT&T to see if they could make it happen but they could not either. We have a good days travel with a little bit of coastal scenery and pull up for the night in Monterey. Our love of great Mexican food is hijacked by our worst meal on the trip. Not to worry tomorrow is another day,
