    ... we got one of them fixed yesterday, but not until I had spent a good part of the day playing taxi mom, driving the girls to and from college, piano lessons, and piano teaching. But it worked out fine, and made me appreciate having more than one car).

    ... lovely here. There is a mixture of dense, tall (like over a 100’ high), pine, oak, sycamore and some other trees I can’t identify which gives the illusion of being in a “forest”. Perhaps that’s where they got the name of the place? And, as opposed to our last campsite, this one is wide, level and very private. As Wendell said, “This is camping”. Tonight, if it doesn’t rain, we will have a campfire!

    We'd formulated a possible plan to fly in convoy with Steve to Kittyhawk First Flight Airport, a place we’d attempted to visit in 2011. Again the weather thwarted our plans! This time it looked as if Steve wouldn’t be able to get back to DC before the weather turned.     ... experienced group of riders. I'm thankful for random afternoon swims, and I'm thankful we all made it safely. We got to host, a Baptist church here in Winston Salem, and then immediately took shuttles to the local YMCA to shower. Dinner was delicious Mexican food provided by our hosts. Then it was time to paint our van. It's tradition that each group paint their van, we didn't make a ton of progress tonight but at least we got started. I think that's all for now.
