Our backpacks are ready! Gosh they are heavy. Patricia's is 48 pounds. Mine is 53 pounds. Heavy, but they have to carry five days of food in a bear canister. We'll be o.k.
It's dawn and our good friends Paul and Beth Salyers show up with their taxi service to Yosemite National Park. Away we go!

... came for a visit. It was heartwarming to connect with everyone--special people all. Thanks to each and every one for the love, support and encouragement as we began this new chapter!

It was time to say goodbye to our kitties next, so we drove up to Manhattan Beach for their final vet exam, and timidly handed them off to their pet transporters. We gained ever more appreciation for our vets back in Flagstaff ...

For the past few days our desert communities and SoCal have had an unusual down pour of scatter showers. This has put a crimped in my vacation hourly event - swimming in the outside pool.
