... amazing valley on mountains. You can really see why they call the Kentucky Appalachians the smoky mountains. The fog and clouds draped over the mountain tops of green masses of trees. The town of Pikeville was sunken into a narrow valley in the secluded mountains. Great location, just not for cyclists with thousands of coal trucks passing through daily. What to do? Finally, much to our dismay, we were forced to rent a Uhaul and drive into Virginia. Live to ride another day! ...
This is our first blog entry. This summer we'll be doing a lot of traveling and wanted everyone to be able to keep up with us! We want to make it from Orlando to Boston this year traveling a total of over 8,000 miles. That's more than the diameter of the earth! Who knows what surprises we'll find along the way!
