... a very long and difficult uphill bike ride, we made it to the pool just before closing. Whizzing down the pool slide was definitely the highlight of my day. But, my favorite moment, was spending time with Victor at the petroglyphs. We took our time finding all of the shapes and helping each other find the ones that eluded us. Victor was so intrigued, he found shapes, including a long, windy arrow, not shown on the display.

I left Clinton, Oklahoma around 7:15 am to head for Sullivan, Missouri where I will spend the night. I drove approximately 516 miles today under sunny skies and a chilly breeze.

... the second, at Dwight. Route 66 is famed for its old-fashioned gas stations, some of which have been kept in/restored to their original condition and make fascinating time capsules of life in the 30's and 40's. The couple curating the Texaco station in Dwight were very friendly and keen to tell us all about the place, having both lived there all their lives.
