Made it down the bay overnight

... for poor visibility we were ducking in and out of the channel to avoid Navy traffic.

During the trip down anything that wasn't fastened down below ended up on the floor in the salon. Left Annapolis at 2 Monday and arrived at Top Rack Marina at about 2 this afternoon. Rewarded ourselves with a great dinner out at the Amber Lantern Restaurant. Early to bed. Up at 5:30 tomorrow to get underway at first light.

The park is called First Landing because 104 Englishmen landed here in April 1607 but life was hard & by September half of them had died. There's lots of history along this coast - there are military & mariners museums detailing the shipping history but we decided to keep on ...

... showed up with cold Heinekens, so a spontaneous welcome home party ensued.

The party broke up at 1500, and not wanting to overstay our “free” parking space, we bid everyone farewell and left Willoughby Bay for Mobjack Bay. We had a nice sail, arriving at 1900 at a favorite anchorage on the Severn River. It had been a long day, drawing to an end our 2012-2013 Bahama islands ...

I have just been informed that there is a huge historic district that we can explore, as well as a hockey game that is playing during my stay there. I can't remember what teams are playing. There is also this really old, old-fashioned Irish pub that plays authentic dirty Irish songs (which are always fun), so I can't wait to go there. And bake! We are going to bake up a storm! Its a good thing that we both love to cook! I am going to have a lot of fun on this ...

After much troubleshooting we determined the problem to be a faulty serial port to USB cable between the modem and computer. This was resolved on November 18 by replacing the cable, generously furnished by friend Mike on S/V Awakening whom we met shortly after our arrival in the BVI.
