... I succeeded, and it was worth speaking no English for a whole day because it was actually really fun! That night we roasted marshmallows and ate s’mores by the campfire. It was so good eating American food because all week, all we ate was Chinese food which was basically all rice. Even for breakfast we had rice! I was scared I would forget how to use a knife and fork to eat because we ate everything ...

... Everyone is real cozy and having a loud good old time! The food was really good so we're glad we stopped.

Saturday we went into Fargo, North Dakota which was about an hour away from where we spent the night. What a beautiful city! We enjoyed walking down town on Broadway to Main and back. We found "Erbert and Gerbert's" for lunch! Neat place and good food. We are not starving to say the least. As we walked along Broadway we crossed a railroad ...

... and drove 3 hours through North Dakota into Minnesota. (I felt a bit guilty about North Dakota). We found another cheap and nice city park by the river just near the town centre of Pelican Rapids - home to the largest pelican (statue) in the world. We decided not to eat in town but went for a walk after dinner. just as well as there was only a pizza shop and McDonalds.

Note: Next issue will have the story of the 2 lovely ladies.

    Detroit Lakes, MN

Traveled to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We are staying overnight at Forest Hills RV Resort. The resort is located on a nice golf course. Unfortunately, the golf course is maintained with Toro and Jack equipment.

On our way to Detroit Lakes, we explored some of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. We seen a lot of water fowl but that was really the extent of wildlife we encountered.

Chilled out the rest of the day.

    Day 3

A travel blog entry by ronrn on Aug 08, 2014

Today we sat in the sun, kayaked, and napped. It was another beautiful day. I did get up very early to pick up a speedo cable in Alexandria. About a 250 mile trip but I need it. I'm not putting the cable on here at the cabin for a few reasons. I'll need to do this at home. Brittany has no fear of the kayak. She is pretty fast as well. Loretta will join us today. Looking forward to that. ...
