We didn't make a ton of progress on the map yesterday, but did a lot. I took the Mini in to get the oil changed and purchased some roof rack crossbars so we could go to REI and get a cargo box. It remains debatable whether we needed it or not, but it looks awesome!! A quick stop at the Mall Of America, lunch at an Italian place, Tucci Benucch, (I needed some lasagna!) Off we go! ... in several places where I crossed the river to take R26 south to Sand Ridge State Forest a little south of Pekin. Surprised to find a pine forest and sand dunes in Illinois but this place has them both. The nicest primitive (no hookup) campsites that I have seen on the trip. Nice soft pine needle floor and well shaded sites.

The Peoria Riverfront museum was well worth the trip into Peoria. I went to see the Jacquin exhibit on Outsider Art. Outsider Art is Art produced by artists without formal training, especially by ones who work in an idiosyncratic style and are relatively isolated from mainstream artistic trends. It often takes on the look of art created with a child like hand to art.
... kept watching the skies all afternoon....as the threat of rain seemed imminent. But, right before the ceremony, the skies cleared and the wind died down. Depending on who you are, you may wonder if God was in favor of this wedding. :) I thought it was an amazing break considering a 90% chance of rain the hour AFTER the ceremony. The temperature began to cool and the sun was down when the band finished and played America the Beautiful and everyone stood and clapped to end a wonderful evening of music. If you ever get the chance I would highly recommend going to Glen Oak Park on a Sunday evening and enjoy listening to a wide range of music at a cost you can’t beat, ...
