For our last day we decided to go to the California Academy of Sciences, at the Golden Gate Park, as the weather is supposed to turn very cold.
This park is evidently larger that New Yorks' Central Park, and has an incredible selection of Gardens, Museums and play grounds.

I wanted to get to Point Reyes National Park before the weekend, avoiding shuttle buses to get there. Because of crowds and limited parking, their web site explains, you can only get so close to the park by car on weekends. Shuttle buses are available to ferry you the rest of the way. ... at Pier 39, toured Fisherman's Wharf and then boarded our ferry for the Alcatraz Tour. It was surreal to actually set foot on the rock after reading and watching so many movies about it. The audio tour was amazing, really bringing this bleak, scary place alive, I would recommend this to anyone visiting San Francisco. Around 5.30pm we caught the second last ferry back to the mainland and set off to find the Caltrain Station. ...
