Staying at Martin Lake Resort which is a definite stretch! It is mobile home park not an rv park, with old fifth wheels and campers that people call home. There is a nice lake and a pool. We drove down along the gulf and stopped to take pictures of the carved trees damaged during Katrina. Absolutely beautiful! After dinner was cleaned up Fay and I walked over to the casino to win back our money we lost the night ...

Not getting enough sleep, obviously, can cause this as well, but so can not getting the right kind of sleep. On a typical non LD riding day, I can sleep for 6 or 8 hours and not feel rested because my sleep is not good. It is interrupted, not deep enough, and not complete. On LD riding trips, I can ...

Hints on distance riding

... or perform other mission-critical electrical modifications right before a rally. This leaves no time to thoroughly exercise the system for proper behavior before having to depend on them during a long night ride. And don't forget, even the best mechanic can make a mistake. Try and avoid picking up your motorcycle and heading out directly on a 10,000 mile trip. A trip is also not the best time to try out that new rainsuit, helmet or packing technique! 6. Use an electric vest! Even on ...
