... Amtrak to see if we might have possibly have left it on the train. And, the hotel is working on it as well, because we were pretty sure we left it here before heading for lunch.
We met a very joyful gal at the Lake Charles, LA train stop while waiting for our taxi. She had seen Kallen on the train and was asking us about him. She just starting singing and praying for God to continue healing and protecting him! It was so sweet!

When I was finished in the Alamo I had some time up my sleeve so I visited the best looking ice cream parlour & had a caramel sundae with coconut macaroon ice cream. Had big yummy sandwiches at JJs – fresh and huge for only $4-5 each. Perth is so expensive. Went to the Alamo. It was too cold to walk around, and we hadn't realised that most of it was outside. Went to the longhouse and watched a good History Channel short movie, then looked at the exhibit inside. Pretty good, but we were surprised to see nearly everything was a reconstruction – most of the exhibits imply they are original ...
... Justin bought a giant turkey leg and I had a hot dog (quote of the day – I read off the menu "Big fat sausage. How do you think it comes?" and didn’t realise what I’d said until Justin was choking with laughter).
Time was dragging as it was too cold to walk around outside, and not much was happening. Even the swine racing was cancelled because it was little piglets racing, and it was too cold for the piglets to come out of their ...
... site was great, except for the fact that the train bridge was 50 feet downriver. Once again, we were serenaded throughout the night by passing freight. Early the next morning we walked through downtown New Braunfels, which is working hard to maintain its country charm, with boutiques, bars, theaters located in the old buildings. Oh, the railroad museum looked interesting too.
Today we are off for Padre Island on the Gulf Coast.
