We got picked up in Sandusky on the 21st and drove along the lake before heading back towards Toledo. We had a great time seeing everyone, our grandparents, all our uncles and aunts and cousins. Our cousin Adrienne was getting married so all the family was reunited.

... the road from the Motel and found the service station doubling as a Subway and grocery store. Purchased a 6 pack of Budweiser each and a mini pizza for tea. Headed back to the Motel and sat outside to sip a beer or two with tea. Next morning, set off again after topping up the fuel and arrived at our hosts in Salem, Ohio around about 1.00pm. ... some time down by the harbor where I was amazed at how this city has managed to marry industry with culture and medicine, all co-existing together by the water’s edge. Oh, and this is one city with many beautiful churches…some with the impressive architecture that is identifiably Russian Orthodox…golden domes topped with crosses.

10:12am We were up at 5 today but couldn't start driving until 8. There was a rooster crowing in the neighborhood that we parked in. He started crowing his little brains out at like 1am....he was still crowing when we left. Sublimely annoying!
