Casinos, discount liquor stores, tractor shops, hunting stores, ranches everywhere and even saw a store on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere near Childress that had a sign "Bisen Buy or Sell". As we get closer to New Mexico we are seeing huge corn fields and more oil rigs. The oil rigs are smaller than I imagined and in clusters.         Passed a small town called Crowell, past Vernon and it looked like a town from Back to the Future!!! Still seeing oil rigs and wide open land. Arrived at Copper Break and discovered that it was also another site of Native Americans. Buffalo used to cross the plains here. Looks like the savannah in Ghana here. Small bushes and red earth.         ... temp was 99! It's now 101 as I write this and the wind is blowing across this crazy odd landscape at high speed. Dinner, I think, will consist of's too darn hot to cook!         ... 27 tonight for our camping and that includes full hook-up with Wi-FI. CHEAP! And where we are tonight is right next to WalMart. WooHoo! We went right over and bought some beer and a big bag of ice to cool it down to ICE cold.
