Friday night was very chill. We played a good ole game of Mario Party and I won *sniff* (Haha, this was actually my first time ever winning Mar Par, so I was pretty jazzed). We also started watching the show Firefly on Netflix. It's a space western that only aired for one season in 2002, and supposedly is one of the best shows that never was.

Saturday was a packed day full of fun. We started off with breakfast in Glendale at the Granville Cafe where ...

    Hi again,

Actually, There isn't a lot to tell you about today other than it was a great day! We got up semi-early and enjoyed our free hotel breakfast. Then we donned our special wristbands, made sure we had our tickets, hopped in the car and drove about a mile to the shuttle bus that would take us to our final Rose Parade event.

Today is the post-parade viewing of the floats. And, wow, you really can get up ...

... last minute shopping before going to the movies in the afternoon to see Planes - Fire and Rescue, which the kids absolutely loved. The cinema and it's clientele were very dodgy, but we didn't expect much when the tickets were only two dollars each! What an experience - a bigger bunch of freaks and weirdos hadn't gathered in the same place since the Star Wars Cantina scene. At least we made it out alive, and got back to LAX ...

... be missed. From a logistical point of view, it is also very well set out...we hardly waited for any ride and there was such a good variety of places to eat to choose from. All in all, a great vibe and a place worth visiting, if not for anything but the icon of popular culture that it is...

After DL, Paul took the kids to the hotel pool for a splash and I really enjoyed some quiet time, sitting on the balcony, watching the day wind down, the sun set...so nice to be on ...

... in Inglewood. Talk about freaky. The reviews for the place were pretty bad but it had a free shuttle to and from the airport so I dismissed their claims...it felt like I was in an old circus ground or from a scene in fear and loathing in Las Vegas. Weirdest place I've ever stayed, didn't feel safe at all, maybe because Inglewood is the ghetto or cause of some of the people I saw walking around the hostel. At any rate I'm glad I'm sitting on the train meow to San Diego alive ...
