    ... back into Texas as we headed to the Fort Worth area.

    We did not see anything of great interest to us in Fort Worth, so we decided to just rest and relax at this 1000 Trails site. We have been moving to a new location just about every day. So we picked up some groceries and plan to cook, swim, rest, read, and Kumihimo for a few days before heading near Dallas, Texas. So, do not fret if you do not hear from us for a few days....

    ... we had the opportunity to hear, first hand how her people are regaining their culture and cohesiveness. In the Traditional Village area we discovered what the 'Three Sisters' Festival' is really about: when spring arrives corn is planted out, 4 kernels in each mound. When it grows its 1st 2 leaves, climbing beans are planted at its base so they have something to grow upwards on, when these have germinated squash seeds are sown at the base of the corn. ...

    ... for Kansas and it's a shame it's such short part of the journey. We drove over the famous rainbow bridge and before we knew it, we were crossing the state border again into Oklahoma. We're not in Kansas any more, Dorothy.

    ... many birds flying low and in circles....that should have tipped us off that there were many bugs in the area - Mayflies!! Yuck! They don't bite but they do stick to you! We made it through the swarms and saw a beautiful sunset over the lake.
