A good day of food and fun

We met Lisa and Dave at Arnold's Perk. They have great coffee but no breakfast. So the next step was to go to the Family Diner in Spirit Lake. Great breakfast. The kids went over to Arnold's Park, while we took Izzie back to the coach. Dave brought over a few tacos from our favorite Taco John's for lunch. Then he brought over some Iowa pork chops (the thick ones), sweet corn (they looked good), and some caramel bread pudding for dinner. Prior to ...

    The Perfect Night with Izzie

... again crying. It didn't look good for the home team. But with another bottle, Izzie was asleep again. Next thing I knew it was 5:30AM and I awoke with Izzie crawling around the bed. Izzie is very quiet in the morning - talking quietly to herself. She likes to move around a bit. Getting kicked in the stomach and face is part of the game. In addition, it is not uncommon for Izzie to check things out in your nose or mouth. We did our best to act like we were sleeping ...

We met the kids for breakfast at the Prairie Chicks. It was a pretty cool place that had games you could play while having breakfast. We played Apples and Apples. I've never played this game and although I won the most hands, I lost because I didn't realize the game went to seven. My bad!!

The ladies decided to take Izzie and do a ...

... a few minutes, it was Grandma that has the knack of laying Izzie down and putting her to sleep. So while Sheila took care of Izzie, I took a nap as well.

We finished the day with dinner at a local restaurant. Izzie is very close to walking on her own so it was fun walking with her in the restaurant.

... surprised to find that the mashed potatoes were instant - not good for Iowa.

Once we reached Spirit Lake, we set up our coach at Cutty's Okoboji Resort Club. Then we headed to Village West to meet with the kids. We got them checked in and then spent some quality time with Izzie. We found out that she is now crawling and is close to walking on her own. She is also starting to form words like Mama and Dada. I will spend some time this week working on her ...
