... lot around 8am and were excited because our friends Jeremiah and Stef Wade (who live not too far from here) were coming out with their kids to have breakfast with us and attend the first show. We've known them for over 15 years and it's always an absolute delight to catch up with them. We had breakfast with the four of them at Das Essenhaus, an amazing Amish restaurant down the road from the lot.

We then went into a theatre to watch a doco about the beginnings of the Amish, both in Europe and then America. I know I personally couldn't belong to such a narrow thinking way of life.Too much of a rebel!
The next and final delight ...
I get to see my mom and my uncle tomorrow in Middlebury. A bright spot in the midst of losing my grandma was that my Uncle Ryan (who lives in Aigua, Uruguay with my Aunt Draupadi) flew in for several weeks and will now actually have a chance to see our show. Bittersweet, but it will be really lovely to see him again before heads back home.
We're taking it all in as it comes and are not looking for deliberate contrasts, but after yesterday's Rock 'n Roll, today we realized we're going through Amish Country, and decided to visit it. Initially, we wanted to visit Lancaster County in Pennsylvania ...
